Is Jesus an Illusion?
My friend Jesus loves to communicate with me through signs—I mean literal signs!
I was engrossed in a book as my husband drove us home from a weekend getaway. Sitting in the passenger seat, I found myself devouring every sentence. It was fascinating and also a bit complex.
The book spoke a lot about the illusion that we call life on Earth, and it really got me thinking. According to the author, literally everything about this human experience is part of the illusion—including the afterlife.
So does this then imply that everyone who has had a near-death experience, met Jesus and loved ones, and returned a completely new version of themselves was, in fact, experiencing some kind of extended illusion of earthly reality? This was hard to wrap my head around.
And then my mind began to ponder another question: If the illusion runs this deep, then is Jesus also part of the illusion? Did we simply create Him as part of our experience on Earth?
I looked up briefly from my book, with this question now taking up uncomfortable residence in my mind, when my eye caught something along the side of the road at the exact moment I happened to glance out the passenger-side window.
A small cardboard sign was staked into the grass on the very edge of the winding rural road we were traveling down, and it read simply:
Christ Is King
Once again, Jesus knew my thoughts. He heard my wondering mind and answered my question.
No, He is not an illusion.
He is the real deal.
If you have questions, simply ask Him for an answer. He is with you, loves you, and always desires to help you know Him!
